SHABUI PENDANTS

This imaginative range of Shabui tree pendants is hand made in limited numbers each year to produce the most basic, tactile and visually interesting object you will ever wear. Our pendants are crafted from self gathered branches of British tree species. No imported woods are used.
Each pendant is individually hand created to achieve a sympathetic, appreciative and unique feel. Where ever possible the original shape of the branch is fully retained, representing the visually encoded part of the history of the trees life.
To avoid overworking the material each pendant is naturalized by wetting with rain water to raise the grain. The pendants are hand sanded by an aged technique producing a unique micro undulating surface that gently falls away beneath the nerve sensitive finger tips.
By retaining and enhancing each naturally occurring mark, the true natural beauty is encapsulated in every pendant. No grain filler or oil immersion techniques are used to permanently embellish our pendants. A light coat of natural bees wax gives the initial appearance a boost.
The naturally produced combination of the individual enzymes of wood and the human body will over time combine to slowly produce a personalized unique colouration. This individual patina will enhance the pendants personal appeal with every fascinating touch.

The natural marking on this Holm Oak pendant is incredable with its original shape fully retained. Its beauty is matched by its tactility.
The pendant measures approx. 3.5 x 3.5 cms. and is on fully adjustable dark brown cotton cord making it an ecologically natural product.
